Cold forming process: cost-effective, precise, waste-free | UBB
What is cold forming

How cold forming works
When we explain our production method, we like to start with a simple image: think of when you shape modeling clay until it takes the form you want. Well, cold forming isn’t that different.
We start from a metal wire and, with the right pressure, give it the shape of the mold. The result is pieces practically ready, with very little material waste and excellent precision in dimensions and surface finish.

Why wasn’t it always done this way?
The most classic production method, turning, is like the work of a sculptor: you start from a block of metal and proceed by removing everything that’s not needed.
Cold forming, on the other hand, starts with the right amount of material and wastes nothing: the metal is shaped into the desired form without the need for additional processing. It’s a more efficient approach to achieving the desired result.
Great reasons to choose cold forming

High precision for more complex projects
Cold forming allows the production of complex components with maximum efficiency, both in the production process and in the final result.
Holes, internal cavities, eccentric elements? No problem, we can handle them. This method allows the creation of intricate shapes without extra steps, ensuring reliability and precision. We see the most unusual requests as opportunities to seize.

Which machines do we use
Every project has its technology. We have new and cutting-edge machines, as well as older and reliable solutions. Thanks to our experience, we know how to advise you on which technology to choose and combine, always with the goal of achieving the ideal solution in terms of results, costs, and timing.
UBB technologyWe see every project as an opportunity to experiment with new ideas and every customer as a partner. We work side by side to find new solutions: tell us what you need and put us to the test.
