MAIN FERRITIC STAINLESS-STEEL CHARACTERISTICS
- Carbon modest content, inferior at 0,10%
- The main added element is the chromium, included between 13 and 24%
- Mechanic resistance between 450 and 600 MPa (1MPa=1N/mm2)
- It cannot be hardened through thermal treatments. For this reason, in order to increase its mechanic resistance, cold plastic deformation processes (hardening) are carried out
- It is easily workable through plastic deformation
- It has low ductility than austenitic categories
- Moderate resistance to corrosion
- It is magnetic
- Poor weldability
